(Just a very quick post today-- there have been so many blessings, but my biggest blessing is taking up a lot of my time and attention at the moment!)
Thirty-two weeks of pregnancy with our little one
... ... ...
We had a busy week last week with lots of visiting family and friends!
... ... ...
Baby clothes (and LOTS of them) from my wonderful sister-in-law... and the fun of going through all the adorable tiny clothes together and sharing stories and memories.
... ... ...
Celebrating a 21st birthday for my brother-in-law with Chinese food and disc golf
... ... ...
And then... this happened.
Our precious, precious boy surprised us by coming eight weeks early!
While we certainly weren't expecting that, we're all doing very well as a new family of three! We will be in the NICU for a while yet, getting the time and care he needs to grow strong and develop so he's ready to come home with us.
I'm amazed (really and truly) by how blessed we are to have gotten great medical care, all the nurses and doctors who have made us feel comfortable even in a scary situation, and we're so blessed that our little boy was born healthy in spite of being so early.
All of our family and friends have been so wonderful- from buying Trevor spare clothes for his surprise overnight in the NICU, to bringing treats, offering their help, and stopping by to visit- just wonderful.
I'm also overwhelmed with how grateful I am for my husband. He's been my rock through all of this- holding my hand and keeping me calm when I was scared, taking such great care of me as I'm recovering, and loving our little boy so well.
He's an amazing dad already, and I'm getting all teary just thinking about how my love for him has grown so much in these short days. It might be the hormones, but I don't think so. ; )
I promise to write about our crazy adventure soon... but for now, I'm going to go watch my boy sleep for a while, and then maybe take a nap!
Count those blessings- we have so much to be thankful for!

ReplyDeleteYes, Congratulations, you THREE! Our kids can certainly surprise us and it seems your little guy started early! It's going to be hard for you to find the time to blog as much, I suspect. Do try to keep us informed as we hold you three in our prayers now. * I post as anonymous because I can't remember my passwords but I'm here!
