We had a very busy weekend... because it was Christmas!
With my family spread out in Kansas and Iowa, and with us in Colorado over the holidays, we didn't get a chance to have my side of the family's annual Christmas party this year. So we decided to turn the calendar on its head and have Christmas in July, instead!
Trevor and I hosted this year, since we're the furthest north in the family, and you know, proximity to the North Pole and all.
A lot of my Christmas stuff (like my Advent wreath) is still back in Colorado, but I pulled out the decorations that I could find...
We had a veggie tray and a meat and cheese tray, ham, chicken breast, a great batch of mashed potatoes my sister made, green bean casserole, corn casserole, and topped it all off with pumpkin spice cookies and pumpkin pudding poke cake.
I'll be eating the leftovers for the next month.
We opened presents...
... and played a really fun game my mom brought, and then, like after all good Christmas parties, the entire family headed to the beach.
Sand, sunshine, good food, and family. Sounds like a winning Christmas to me!
