Things are really getting busy around here- crazy busy, in fact- and while I'm pretty used to insane seasons at work, I'm not used to winter being so intense.
My head tells me that it's a good thing to be so busy- it means a successful business, happy customers, people who have the opportunity to experience God's beautiful creation in a new way- my heart often says something different. It's easy for me to get overwhelmed or discouraged, burnt out by the busy.
And that's just another reason why I count. I have to remain thankful to fight back the entitlement. I have to be grateful to keep from feeling sorry for my busy self. I have to find the gifts so I recognize the blessing in the busy.
Morning commutes with my husband... and oh, the beauty of this place!

A few nights over these past few weeks, I've helped to test out the tubing hill and also assisted in moving some snowmobiles around... it's a rough job, but someone has to do it. (Hehe).

I officially have an office (instead of working only from my home office), and I've really enjoyed making it a cozy spot for our guests to check in.

I'm blessed by views like this one, right from my little office space.

One of the houses in our neighborhood has quite the light display- and timed to the music on the radio. Trevor and I stopped by on our way home and just watched.

I don't think that very much can rival an Iowa sunset, but this came pretty close.

The guides we're working with this winter- all nice young men, and I'm looking forward to getting to know them better.

THESE WEEKS
on the blog!
I've been taking some time this Advent to do a little digging, even more deeply, into the Christmas story, and reminding myself that Jesus was more than just a baby... he was a big unexpected surprise, is the one who understands us completely, and gives us a family.
And, I also rounded up some pretty awesome cookie recipes for ya... I'm working on baking them ALL.
While you're thinking of it, pray for snow for us out here in Colorado, and pray that everything runs safely and smoothly during this busy season!
Count those blessings!

We can always be thankful when we know it is God who orchestrates our lives, like the conductor of a beautiful symphony. Any instrument by itself may seem odd and out of place, but when all played together, following the lead of the Creator Himself, we will create beauty. I envy your beautiful views. Have a blessed Christmas! - Amy
