Change creeps up on us, sometimes. Like the sudden shift that brings down the leaves and laces the ground with frost, my life seems... surprising.
But somehow, in the middle of the surprises is where the most beauty is found. I just have to learn to lean into it, to allow the change to happen- even when it's not the way I thought it would be. That's where I find the biggest blessings.

The dumb phone I've been using for the past five or so years finally bit the dust, and Trevor spoiled me with a new smartphone. So neat!

We took a quick trip down to Kansas City to see my parents, and Bear got to ride in the car the whole 6 hours. As you can see, he was terribly unhappy about that (not!). Such a good dog, and so fun to to have around.
In Kansas City, we got to eat with my parents at a good barbeque joint-- this was my "barbeque sundae," complete with a mason jar and a pickle on top.
