These transition times can force us into a noticing again. Suddenly I'm reminded that the summer is waning and the days are getting shorter and I'd better find the summertime blessings before they're gone.
... ... ... ... ...
Evening rides on the four-wheeler
High corn and that earthy sweet smell
Sitting behind my guy and the warm sunshine on my back
... ... ... ... ...
The support of the faithful
Worship with people who believe the time I spend behind my desk, eyes on the computer, the in-and-out shuffling of paperwork, really makes a difference
... ... ... ... ...
Freezing another batch of sweet corn, and the big ole dog who thought he'd help
... ... ... ... ...
An evening with friends- catching up over bags for sale and root beer floats.
... ... ... ... ...
Warm afternoons and falling leaves
Keeping the car door open and letting the breeze in while I wait for him to close up the shop- a moment of quiet and peace
... ... ... ... ...
Seeing this place change with the seasons
The way the light falls over the land I've come to love
THIS WEEK
On the Speckled Goat...
I'm learning, slowly, that there are a few questions I need to ask- powerful questions that bring me again to the throne room of God, where my true identity lies.
Count those blessings- and have a wonderful weekend!
